Before we celebrate at the Block Party on May 9, there are a few things we need everyone to take care of. Find your grade level or role below to get started.

Your survey includes the matriculation forms to keep your Fellow in BRYC next year. Please complete it as soon as possible.

Your 9th grade year will be built around our SELF curriculum — Social Emotional Learning, Educational paths, Learning tools, and Financial health. It's designed to help you build the foundation for everything that comes next.

BRYC expects all Fellows to apply to at least one opportunity each year. Applying to a program this summer builds your resume and helps you discover your passions early — the earlier you start, the more competitive you become when it counts.

Junior year is all about reaching your TOPS target score. Every point on the ACT can move you to a higher award tier and more money toward tuition. Learn more about TOPS eligibility requirements.

Long-term commitment to activities outside the classroom is one of the biggest factors colleges consider. Apply to at least one opportunity this summer — the earlier you start exploring, the more leadership roles you can earn over time. And if you're heading into junior year, use this summer to add something real to your college application story.

TOPS (Taylor Opportunity Program for Students) pays tuition at qualifying Louisiana public colleges. Award amounts change year to year — here's what they cover right now at LSU ($12,695/yr) and Southern ($9,290/yr).

  • TOPS Tech — 2.5 GPA + 17 ACT — up to ~$3,000/yr
  • TOPS Opportunity — 2.5 GPA + 20 ACT — up to ~$6,000/yr
  • TOPS Performance — 3.0 GPA + 23 ACT — up to ~$6,500/yr
  • TOPS Honors — 3.5 GPA + 27 ACT — up to ~$9,000/yr
  • TOPS Excellence — 3.5 GPA + 31 ACT — up to ~$12,000/yr

At Southern, TOPS Opportunity covers nearly all tuition. At LSU, it covers roughly half — every point on the ACT counts. More info: osfa.la.gov/tops.html

All rising seniors in the Class of 2027 are required to attend BRYC Fellow Orientation for the 2026-2027 year. More details will be shared soon — mark your calendar.

Senior Programming Starts One Week Early

Programs will begin one week earlier in August for seniors. This gives you a head start on your college application season with BRYC support from day one.

Senior year applications will ask about your experiences, passions, and commitments. Use this summer to add something real to your story. Apply now and let your PM and mentor support your application.
